My research interests encompass HIV in women, HIV and reproductive health/ family planning, and HIV in foreign-born populations. Prior projects have included research on pharmacokinetic interactions between hormonal contraception and antiretroviral medications, reproductive care programs and assisted reproductive technologies for HIV-infected individuals/couples,  and characteristics of foreign-born persons with HIV and differences by region of origin and gender and from US-born populations.  I am the co-director of “ The Foreign-Born Health and HIV Initiative” which seeks to 1) Improve the health care of foreign-born HIV+ individuals, 2) Synthesize knowledge in this emerging/underserved population, 3) Develop clinical research projects in immigrant health and HIV, and 4) Create a network of researchers and stakeholders to facilitate collaboration on programs/projects for this minority group.
