The Department of Family Medicine is committed to education for medical students, residents, fellows, as well as educational opportunities for health care providers.
Clinical programs are strategically designed to provide an environment that models innovative ways of delivering patient care for our learners.
Our researchers are national leaders in the areas of practice-based, community participatory, and practice redesign and improvement research.
We have a long history of being involved in the community, and engaging the community in education and research is an important priority.
With over 180 regular faculty, supported by 30 staff members and thanks to over 600 clinical volunteer faculty, our department is the second largest Department of Family Medicine in the United States!
We strive to achieve the Triple Aim: enhancing the quality of healthcare, providing affordable care, and improving the health of people in the community. We provide outstanding care to patients, training the primary care workforce, and connecting with our communities.
