Dr. Lindberg on Routine Screening for Child Abuse

The early signs of child abuse among infants and toddlers -- head trauma, cracked ribs or abdominal injuries -- are often missed, and that may be due in part to a lack of standardized screening.

Dr. Daniel Lindberg suggests that "if your child has a femur fracture, the decision to test for other abusive injries shouldn't depend on the hospital you go to, or the color of your skin, or your net worth or your demeanor."
