Critical Care Fellowship

Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine Fellowship

The program is co-sponsored by the Departments of Anesthesiology and Emergency Medicine.  This is a 2-year ACGME accredited fellowship that will provide training in multispecialty critical care and prepare graduates for board certification through the combined American Board of Anesthesiology and American Board of Emergency Medicine pathway.

The curriculum is designed to compliment core Emergency Medicine residency education and prepare graduates to work in a variety of critical care settings.  Education includes training in five subspecialty critical care units: Medical, Surgical/Trauma, Cardiothoracic, Neurology/Neurosurgery, and Burn.  Educators include board-certified intensivists from the Departments of Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, and Neurosurgery.  The curriculum also includes dedicated rotations in critical care point-of-care ultrasound and echocardiography (TTE and TEE) and clinical research.  Elective rotations include bronchoscopy, critical care nutrition, palliative care, resuscitation, and numerous others. Fellows will be provided elective time to customize their training and subspecialty expertise.

The fellowship participates in the San Francisco Match Program and is currently accepting applications for the July 2019 – June 2021 cycle.
