IACUC Requirements

Starting your project

Obtain IACUC approval for your project

You must have an approved IACUC production protocol for each transgenic (microinjection or stem cell) animal model or for each cryopreservation/rederivation line before we can begin work on your project.

We have developed “standardized protocol” forms for each of our services. You need only to complete administrative details and your project description. The remainder of the form including protocol associated surgical details, animal numbers, etc. has been completed for you and is pre-approved, thus decreasing approval turn-around time. These forms can be found under the “Forms” section of the IACUC web site.

NOTE: You must have an approved experimental animal protocol before the short form production protocol can be approved.

Please contact the Transgenic and Gene Targeting Core at the Makeamouse email if you have questions.

Please contact the IACUC office at 303-724-1056 for any questions concerning animal protocols or usage
