Copy Decks are Word documents that
can be helpful when organizing a website and content in preparation for
the move to Microsoft Office SharePoint Server.
Here is how they work: Each copy deck equals one Web
page. It should include all text and photos, and it should serve as a
road map for building out a site. That means it should include notes,
instructions and suggestions (as to layouts, photos, reusable content,
etc.) as well as all content.
Some CU programs are building out their entire site on
copy decks before they move to MOSS. Others are using copy decks for
the parts that they know are going to change significantly.
We encourage you to consider copy decks as an organizational tool that could ease the transition for your Web redesign.
