Curriculum Development in Medicine at the University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka
Dr. Richard Fisher, retired associate professor in the Department of Orthopedics, assisted with curriculum development in medicine at the University of Ruhuna. In this capacity, he worked with all departments and student groups within the School of Medicine to review the curriculum and to explore ways to integrate individual departments into an overall curriculum reform process. His work also involved reviewing other Sri Lankan medical school curriculums where curriculum reform had been successfully implemented.
“The Fulbright Program provides an opportunity to pursue your academic interests in an entirely different cultural context. The opportunity to address common problems and issues with your host country colleagues is a fascinating and intriguing learning experience.”
