In 2012, the way CU Denver charges tuition will change for certain out-of-state students in online classes.
If you enroll in an online section, your tuition rate will change but
your actual costs won’t. Here’s why: a scholarship will replace what
used to be a lower tuition rate. In the past, you received a tuition
discount. Now you’ll have two lines on your student bill, one for an
out-of-state tuition rate and one for a scholarship.
The net cost to you won’t change.
Prospective/New Students: If you enroll in an online section, your
tuition rate will include two lines on your bill: an out-of-state tuition
rate and a scholarship for out-of-state students enrolling in online
class sections. The net cost to you (the student) will be a
discounted tuition rate.
All you have to do is enroll in the online section. You won’t have to
apply for the scholarship – all of that will be taken care of for you.
The scholarship will be applied to your student bill as soon as enrollment
can be confirmed. If you don’t see the scholarship applied to your tuition
bill right away, it should very soon.
If you have questions, contact your school/college program coordinator.

Fees
Students enrolled in only online courses will not be charged campus fees, except those supporting information technology and the student information/records system. Schools and colleges may require a fee for instructional program support and there is a fee for enrolling in each online course.
How Do You Qualify
You are eligible for this amount if you...
- Live outside of Colorado
- Take all of your CU Denver courses online
This amount is higher than the standard in-state tuition, but significantly lower than the non-resident tuition amount.
Exceptions
Some online classes are in CU Denver’s extended campus. The tuition rates of these classes will be set by the schools and programs offering these courses. If you are unsure whether the course you are considering is in extended campus or in main campus (and may be eligible for a tuition discount), please contact your school/college program coordinator.
