How do I submit an assignment?

  • Submitting assignments in Blackboard is easy and straightforward. Just follow these steps...
    1. Click the “Assignments” Header
    2. Click the link “View/Complete Assignment:”
    3. Click "Browse"
    4. Find your File
    5. Click "Okay"
    6. Click "Submit"

What is “Safe Assign” and how does it work?

  • “Safe Assign” is a plagiarism prevention service that detects unoriginal content in student papers. Here's how you use it...
    1. Click “Assignments” or "Safe Assign".
    2. Find the Assignment with the green paper and green check mark. The Assignment may be called "Safe Assign".
    3. Click the link “View/Complete Assignment:”
    4. Click "Browse"
    5. Find your File
    6. Click "Okay"
    7. Click "Submit"

What if I receive an error message when submitting an assignment (ex- “InstanceNotFound”)?

  • If you are receiving an "InstanceNotFound" error please:
    1. Rename your file and ensure that you do not use any spaces, extraneous characters in the file name (JaneSmithAssignment1.doc).
    2. If using Word on either MAC or PC, save the file as either .doc, .rtf, .txt, .pdf or any file types that Bb currently support.
    3. If possible, avoid using a wireless internet connection.

    How do I add to the digital drop box?

    • Once in your course...
      1. Click “Course Tools” listed in the tool box on the left hand side.
      2. Click "Digitial Dropbox".
      3. Click "Send File".
      4. Click the Browse button and locate the file on your computer.
      5. Click "Submit". Blackboard will give you a “Drop Box Receipt.” Make sure it says “success” if it does repeat steps 3-6 again.
      6. Click “Okay”.
