How do I send a Blackboard message (not an email)?

  • Under Tools, Click “Communication”, then “Messages”, then “New Message”...
    1. Choose your recipients.
    2. Write your email in the provided text box.
    3. Attach any files (if applicable).
    4. Click “Submit”.
    Please note that a Message is different from an email in Blackboard. A message is sent as internal mail message inside Blackboard, and no copy will be sent to your email inbox. If you choose to send an email it will be sent and processed through your university email address.

How do I check my message inbox/sent messages?

  • To check your inbox...
    1. Under Tools, Click “Communication”.
    2. Click “Messages”.
    3. Click “Inbox".
    4. Choose the message based on the Sender or Subject.
    5. Open the Message by clicking the Subject line.
  • To check your sent messages...
    1. Under Tools, Click “Communication”.
    2. Click “Messages”.
    3. Click “Sent".
    4. Choose the message based on the Recipients or Subject.
    5. Open the Message by clicking the Subject line.
