The Online Teaching certificate program is designed for K-12, college and university educators interested in creating and teaching online and blended courses, or using Web-based/Web 2.0 components to enhance face-to-face instruction.

 
In accordance with professional standards for quality online courses (iNACOL and IBSTPI), participants will complete coursework that addresses the following areas related to online teaching and learning: roles of instructors and students, communication, facilitation strategies for online discussions (both asynchronous and synchronous), the collaborative nature of online courses, available technologies for delivering online courses, methods of assessment, learning outcomes, learning activities, and evaluation.

L2CRT
Faculty in the Literacy, Language & Culturally Responsive Teaching program believes that together, literacy and language are of utmost importance in students’ academic development.

Reading, writing, and oral language are approached from a socio-psycholinguistic perspective that emphasizes a learner's construction of meaning along with the learning of important skills. Importance is placed on using theory, inquiry, and personal reflection to inform classroom practice. The program prepares teachers to use a variety of assessments to address students' needs.

Master of Criminal Justice


Upon completion of the program, you will have mastery of the concepts and theories associated with the various components of criminology and the criminal justice system; have an in-depth knowledge of the theories of crime causation; and develop skills necessary to utilize research methods in conducting and evaluating criminology and criminal justice issues.

You will also have the skills you need to:

  • Make use of the broad base of knowledge and research in criminology and criminal justice programming and policy-making.
  • Communicate effectively in speaking.
