Tuition and Finances
Cost (and Savings) of Attendance
The CU Denver Financial Services offers more than $70 million in financial assistance to qualified students on the downtown Denver campus each year (divided amongst 12,000+ students).
Out of State Discounted Tuition: Fall 2012 - Summer 2013
You are eligible for the discounted amount if you: live outside of Colorado and take all of your CU Denver courses online.
The discounted non-resident tuition (per credit hour) for College of Liberal Arts and Sciences:
- UNDERGRADUATE - College of Liberal Arts and Sciences: $448
This amount is higher than the standard in-state tuition, but significantly lower than the non-resident tuition amount. If you have questions, contact your school/college program coordinator.
Changes If You're An Undergraduate Student
In 2012, the way CU Denver charges tuition will change for certain out-of-state students in online classes.
If you enroll in an online section, your tuition rate will change but your actual costs won’t. Here’s why: a scholarship will replace what used to be a lower tuition rate. In the past, you received a tuition discount. Now you’ll have two lines on your student bill, one for an out-of-state tuition rate and one for a scholarship. The net cost to you won’t change.
Prospective/New Students: If you enroll in an online section, your tuition rate will include two lines on your bill: an out-of-state tuition rate and a scholarship for out-of-state students enrolling in online class sections. The net cost to you (the student) will be a discounted tuition rate.
All you have to do is enroll in the online section. You won’t have to apply for the scholarship – all of that will be taken care of for you. The scholarship will be applied to your student bill as soon as enrollment can be confirmed. If you don’t see the scholarship applied to your tuition bill right away, it should very soon.
If you have questions, contact your school/college program coordinator.
Exceptions
Some online classes are in CU Denver’s extended campus. The tuition rates of these classes will be set by the schools and programs offering these courses. If you are unsure whether the course you are considering is in extended campus or in main campus (and may be eligible for a tuition discount), please contact your school/college program coordinator.
Fall 2012, Spring 2013, Maymester 2013, Summer 2013
Tuition and fees at the university have been established by the Board of Regents, the governing body of the University of Colorado, and is subject to change any time.
Please Note: The tuition rates below do not apply to or include Extended Studies credit hours. Tuition for each Extended Studies course is charged in addition to tuition for any "Main Campus" credit hours and is established by the individual University Department/College offering the course. For questions about the tuition rate for a particular Extended Studies course, please contact the offering Department/College.
