The mission of the CU Denver online Early Childhood Special Education Specialist license/endorsement program is to prepare you with a solid background in assessment, teaching, intervention and collaboration to help you be successful in your career.

The program is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of
Educator Preparation (CAEP), Colorado Department of Education, Council
for Exceptional Children (CEC) and the National Association for the
Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and leads Colorado in the number of
ECSE licensure candidates.

Goal of the ECSE Program
The goal of the online ECSE program is to provide you with
substantive support and personal interaction in becoming a leader
working with young children with disabilities and their families with
the Early Childhood Special Education Specialist license/endorsement
Course topics will include:
- Child growth and development
- Approaches to young children's learning
- Curriculum and program development
- Medical and physiological aspects of developmental disabilities
- Social and cognitive development/disorders
- Screening and assessment of young children
