Internet Settings

Your internet browser and toolbar settings can prohibit your ability to access your course materials, the course content, and participation in the course.

You may have to update your settings in more than one location if you have a toolbar in addition to your browser.

Pop-up Blockers

Pop-up blocker programs may hinder your ability to view course features. For best results, we suggest you disable your pop-up blocker prior to viewing your course.

Google, Yahoo, Comcast, Qwest, and other toolbars all contain their own pop-up blockers so you may need to turn them all off in order to view everything in a Blackboard course site.

• To turn them off, scroll over the icons in the toolbars until you see “Pop-up Windows Blocked or “sites Blocked” and then select ‘allow’ for this same icon.

How You View the Web

To take advantage of the latest technology incorporated in this site, and to minimize the need for additional plug-in downloads, we recommend using one of the following:

• For a PC use Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 7.0)
• For a Mac use Safari (version 3.0)

Browser Options

Major releases of supported browsers will be tested within 30 days of their public release date. A major release ends with the numbers "0" or "5". We do not typically test minor browser releases. Due to the rapid release cycles of some supported browsers we will support the two latest releases of each browser. When using older versions of a browser, users risk running into problems with the course software.

In order to take an online course, you will need to have some basic software to be able to turn in papers, presentations, essays, and other such homework.
