Breakfast and lunch will be included and there will be an optional reception / happy hour at the end of the event.​

This event is free for faculty and staff of the University of Colorado, all other attendees will pay a $50.00 registration fee.

KeynOte Speaker: 
Mike Hess - Founder and Executive Director​ of Blind Institute of TechnologyMike-Hess-1.jpg
He brings more than two decades of blindness experience, leadership, and thoughtfulness to the mission. As the token blind guy in private Fortune 500 companies, Mike experienced just what it takes to build organizations through people, processes, and tools. Mike managed 7- and 8-figure projects throughout his career, and states it is because of his blindness, not despite his blindness, that he became a 6-figure engineer. Even though Mike had great success in his corporate career, he always had the notion of leaving his thumbprint on humanity. Thus, he left corporate America to begin the mission at Blind Institute of Technology. After 4 years of challenges and successes, he has created partnerships with Davita, Uber, Oppenheimer Funds and many other organizations to meet the goals of BIT.

Parking:

Parking is available anywhere within the provided parking lots south of the building and is free of charge. When there is a large community event scheduled on a day when CU classes are in session, part of the lot may be blocked off for CU student parking only. When this occurs, the area designated for CU students will be identified with signage and in some cases, personnel will be directing cars to the appropriate section. Please note that vehicles left more than one night may be towed. If you find yourself in a situation where you cannot move your car, call 303-315-9454.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION:

The nearest RTD Light Rail station is the Lincoln station at Park Meadows Drive and Lincoln Ave. If you take the light rail to the Lincoln station, you can transfer to the 410 RTD bus route to get to the CU South Denver location. You will be dropped off/picked up at the “Jefferson Parkway” stop on Lincoln Ave. in front of the building.

Lone Tree Link On Demand - The Lone Tree Link is a free shuttle service that connects employment centers on Park Meadows Drive with RTD light rail and entertainment/retail.​ Click here for more information.​

CU ONLINE INNOVATOR AWARD NOMINATION SPRING 2018: 
CU Online seeks nominations for the 2018 CU Online Innovator Award.  Each year this award recognizes and honors an outstanding CU Denver faculty member for efforts in improving education through the use of technology.  Now in its seventh year, the CU Online Innovator Award recipient will be recognized during the annual CU Online Spring Symposium, to be held on May 16th, 2018. 

Eligibility
Any full or part-time individual faculty from the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus can be nominated.

Criteria
The CU Online Innovator Award recognizes outstanding faculty in the following areas:

  • A demonstrated commitment to improving education through the use of online technology
  • Ongoing innovation in the use of technology in their own classroom, particularly online
  • A solid track record of supporting, sharing and encouraging their peers in the use of technology
  • Recognized service to students
