CU Online Faculty Seminar Schedule and Center for Faculty Development Workshops

Listed below is the schedule of seminars offered by CU Online that discuss online course development and delivery.  These seminars are free to UC Denver faculty on the downtown Denver Campus (DDC) and the Anschutz Medical Campus (AMC).

How Learning Works: A Teaching Workshop with Aaron Johnson

Aaron Johnson, Director of Educational Technology at Denver Seminary, will be speaking and hosting an interactive workshop on teaching with technology, focused on research-based principles published in "How Learning Works" by members of Carnegie Mellon's Scholarship of Teaching and Learning program. Come ready to learn and discuss how these principles could be applied to your teaching.

With a rising number of students accessing and completing coursework through mobile applications on devices such as smartphones and tablets, it is important that accessing your course through a mobile application is as engaging and effective as accessing your course from a computer. Thinking about Spring Semester? Come Learn About Canvas*

This hands-on workshop is for faculty preparing to teach with Canvas for the first time or those who would like to review the basics. We will provide a basic overview of the features of Canvas including files, content pages, discussions and quizzes. We will also review announcements, notifications and messages in Canvas. During the second part of the workshop, participants will be able to ask the academic technology teams specific questions related to their course.
