This website is intended to support university faculty and administrators in putting in place effective outcomes assessment systems in all academic programs across the consolidated campus.
The overall purpose of the outcomes assessment effort is to cultivate a culture of continuous improvement around program assessment to advance student learning, teaching effectiveness, and program quality.
Essentially, outcomes assessment means that all academic programs are expected to have effective processes in place in which they have identified learning outcomes, assessed student learning for these outcomes through a variety of measures, and used the results to guide their program improvement process.
As a requirement of accreditation, each academic program, and each school and college, is expected to submit an annual assessment report at the end of the spring or summer semester to the Denver or Anschutz Assessment Committees describing its assessment results and program modifications. In the past two academic years (2008-2009 & 2009-2010) ALL of the programs, and schools and colleges, on both campuses prepared assessment reports--which is quite an accomplishment and demonstrates the faculty and administration's commitment to improving programs and advancing student learning through assessment.
