Committed to Tolerance and Civility

Dec. 2, 2016 - As a community of professionals who view mutual respect, civility and tolerance as intrinsic parts of our mission, the University of Colorado will not tolerate bigotry and racism. Our faculty, students, staff, and patients rely upon our professionalism and depend upon us to conduct ourselves with compassion and without prejudice.

In the past week, we have seen incidents where health care professionals who recently possessed faculty appointments on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus, but who are not CU employees, expressed views that are clearly racist in nature. These views are repugnant and are not shared within the university community and do not represent the thousands of health care providers, faculty members, administrators, researchers and students who serve the CU Anschutz Medical Campus.

We are committed to ensuring that our campus remains a place of tolerance, where people of every race, gender, ethnicity and political view are welcomed in the spirit of civility and treated with respect.
