Chapter 30: Montgomery GI Bill (MGIB)
The MGIB program provides up to 36 months of education benefits. This benefit may be used for degree and certificate programs, flight training, apprenticeship/on-the-job training and correspondence courses. Chapter 33: Post 9/11 GI Bill

Chapter 35: Survivor / Dependent Assistance
Dependents' Educational Assistance provides education and training opportunities to eligible dependents of certain veterans. The program offers up to 45 months of education benefits. These benefits may be used for degree and certificate programs, apprenticeship and on-the-job training. If you are a spouse, you may take a correspondence course. Chapter 1606: Selected Reserve / National Guard (MGIB-SR)
The MGIB-SR program may be available to you if you are a member of the Selected Reserve. The Selected Reserve includes the Army Reserve, Navy Reserve, Air Force Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve and Coast Guard Reserve, as well as the Army National Guard and the Air National Guard. Chapter 1607: Reserve Education Assistance Program (REAP)
REAP was established as a part of the Ronald W. Reagan National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2005. It is a new Department of Defense education benefit program designed to provide educational assistance to members of the Reserve components called or ordered to active duty in response to a war or national emergency (contingency operation) as declared by the President or Congress. Yellow Ribbon Program
The Yellow Ribbon Program is an additional benefit offered to students who are 100% eligible for the Post 9-11 benefit and are not eligible to petition for residency or who live out of state. Active duty Service members and their spouses are not eligible for this program.
This benefit helps to alleviate the financial burden of students who are charged the out of state tuition rate and are responsible for the difference between out of state and in-state tuition. CU Denver contributes a portion of the difference between out of state and in-state tuition and the VA will match that contribution, not to exceed the difference between out of state and in-state tuition.
There is a set number of dollars and slots allotted for Yellow Ribbon. This Program is on a first come first serve basis and there is a waitlist each semester. Yellow Ribbon contributions are applied to the Fall and Spring semesters only, Summer semester does not receive a Yellow Ribbon contribution. Awards are decided after census.
To be added to the Yellow Ribbon waitlist, send an email to VMSS@ucdenver.edu with a subject line of "Please add to Yellow Ribbon Waitlist" and include student name, student ID number, and start term. Please also attach a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) showing eligibility percentage or an eBenefits Summary through the eBenefits website with a date/time stamp for reference.
