     Robert Feinstein, MD
       Practice Director

When I was 15 years old, after counseling in “Head Start”, I decided I wanted to be a therapist. I loved taking care of people. I eventually went to medical school to become a psychiatrist. I have spent 25 year training in many different forms of psychotherapy including psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, family therapy, group psychotherapy, motivation interviewing, and psychoanalysis. As the Practice Director of the clinic I cannot think of a better way to both help patients and teach the next generation of psychiatrists and health professionals the art of combining psychotherapy with the use of pharmacology. Our clinic staff is terrific and works as a dedicated team to provide you the finest psychiatric outpatient experiences.

I have enjoyed working for UCH and the Department of Psychiatry for over 20 years. I have developed some wonderful relationships with co-workers, residents and amazing faculty doctors. I’m truly happy to be part of a team that provides quality care to patients that often have difficulty getting services.  For me, it’s all about providing good customer service in an atmosphere that is courteous, professional and respectful.

I enjoy knowing that I am a part of a team and that as a member of that team I am able to make a difference in the lives of the patients we serve.

  Clinical Psych Social Worker

I always knew I wanted to work with people, but it wasn’t until the end of my second year in college that I knew clinical social work was the career for me.  After obtaining my Bachelor’s degree, I completed the Master of Social Work program though Ohio State University’s College of Social Work.  I spent the first five years of my career in Ohio, largely working with high-risk adolescents and families, before moving to Colorado and joining the University of Colorado Hospital Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic in 2010.  I am truly passionate about this line of work and thoroughly enjoy effectively working through the various challenges clients present to me on a daily basis.

I have been with University of Colorado Hospital for almost 4 years and have been to 2 other departments within the hospital.  I feel like the Department of Psychiatry is a place that I can show patients and co-workers my true caring personality and make them smile.  I also enjoy cheering people up, and turning their bad days into good days.  I feel that life is too short so enjoy it and life is better when you can wake up with a smile on your face or at least put a smile on someone else’s face.
