About Us

Established in 2004 on the University Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, the largest academic health center in the Rocky Mountain region, the Center for Women’s Health Research

  1. Performs cutting-edge research on women’s health and sex differences with a focus on cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and the intersection of mental and physical health in those diseases;
  2. Provides women, their families and healthcare providers with the information they need to make informed health decisions; and
  3. Develops excellent scientists to grow the field of women’s health and sex differences.

The $1.6 million in seed grants that has supported the work of 65 MD and PhD scientists researching an array of women’s health and sex differences issues through our Center has leveraged over $65 million in external funding from organizations like the National Institutes of Health and the American Diabetes Association.  Our commitment to grow the field and close the gap in women’s health research is improving and saving lives.
