Powerlifting, like all strength sports, is a test of the strength of one’s body as well as one’s mind. The sport focuses on three main lifts: the squat, the bench, and the deadlift. CU Denver is proud to boast a first-rate collegiate powerlifting team that reaps the benefits of powerlifting training as well as pushes our athletes further than they could ever imagine. While we do not require you to be able to put up heavy weight from the beginning, we ask that you are dedicated to the team and open to pushing the limits of your body and mind. Our goal is to come in each day and focus on training, but we like to have our fair share of fun as well.
