Following are frequently asked questions about using the university's GlobalProtect virtual private network (VPN) and VMware Horizon virtual desktop with Duo Security:
CU Secure for VPN is our new multi-factor authentication service at University of Colorado Denver and Anschutz Medical Campus. Using Duo Mobile and GlobalProtect, this new system adds a layer of security over your password and data, and the university's data, when connecting remotely.
Yes. If you want to use the campus wireless networks, you must connect to the "Guest" wireless network (not the trusted wireless) to connect via VPN. This includes disconnecting from your wired docking station.
When you connect via wireless, a CU web page will open asking you to accept campus policy. Click Accept to connect.
You can connect from any remote location that is not on the campuses’ trusted or wired networks. These include guest wireless, your home office, Starbucks, the mountains, the beach, etc.
a) If you are connecting on campus, ensure that you are fully disconnected from the trusted networks. Disconnect from your docking station to remove the wired connection, disconnect from CU Anschutz or CU Denver wireless, connect to CU Anschutz Guest or CU Denver Guest, and then try connecting to the appropriate client for your campus.
b) If you are connecting off-campus, try clearing you browser cache or go to a site you haven’t connected to before to ensure you are on the Guest wireless. You will see the Guest wireless “Accept” page prior to connection.
