Spearheaded by an enthusiastic group of faculty, staff, and students, LYNX UP first launched in 2018 to raise funds from faculty, staff, alumni, and friends for scholarships. The university surpassed it’s original 3-year, $15 million goal, raising more than $18 million thanks to gifts from many generous donors across the country.

LYNX UP has since become CU Denver's ongoing employee giving campaign in which CU Denver’s faculty and staff continue to reach into their own pockets to help our students succeed by making personal gifts throughout the year for student support and programs. Their generosity is much appreciated and much in evidence during the annual LYNX UP Challenge, a friendly competition to encourage giving while allowing bragging rights to the schools, colleges, and units with the most participation.

LYNX UP Challenge

The LYNX UP Challenge is CU Denver's annual, friendly competition to encourage giving among faculty and staff. During the Challenge, schools, colleges, and units across campus unite into teams and see who which ones can garner the most participation. Members of the LYNX UP Ambassadors serve as team captains and advocates for the campaign among their colleagues.

Viewing 2020 as challenging enough, the LYNX UP Ambassadors chose to set the competition aside last year and encourage giving solely on the merits of making a difference. In the end, faculty and staff broke all of their previous records for philanthropic support, contributing $182,000 for scholarships, student support, and other funds near and dear to them.
