Mission Statement


 

The mission of the Office of Institutional Planning is to provide the highest level of planning, design, space planning, and transition management services for the UC Denver campus communities.  To provide innovative and effective solutions resulting in a productive, efficient, competitive, and state-of-the-art built environment.  To provide comprehensive project oversight resulting in a cohesive alignment of the physical environment with the UC Denver’s mission in education, research, clinical care, and service.

Providing a physical environment which effectively facilitates and enhances daily activities of faculty, staff and students through provision of a learner-centered, distinctive and welcoming campus environment, is our main priority.

The Office of Institutional Planning is a dynamic office dedicated to the planning of university facilities by providing a quality environment in support of teaching, research, clinical care and service.

The office coordinates and facilitates the capital planning processes on the campuses; and is responsible for space program development, campus architect oversight, and campus physical move coordination.

The resident architect provides professional guidance and leadership to the long-range planning of campuses physical environment and to the design of specific buildings and campus environments in support of the university’s mission and strategic vision.

 

 

Our Services


Services provided include:

  • Updates to campus master plans including oversight of land use planning;
  • Preparation of institutional space planning and facilities needs assessments;
  • Oversight of master planning, urban design, campus landscape planning, programming, and aesthetic issues throughout project pre-planning and design;
  • Move management/transition coordination
  • Participation in developing major components of the university’s capital plan including facilities program definition, concept and program planning;
  • Assisting in development of the five-year capital plans;
  • Input into the development and consistent application of campus design standards;
  • Providing input into landscape and public art projects;
  • Input on campus sustainability topics;
  • Communication with various internal and external entitites on aesthetic and campus planning issues;
  • Input on various extended campus projects and participation in outreach activities.
