Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy for Courses with No Cost

We request that you withdraw from a training session as soon as you know you are unable to attend. This allows someone from the waitlist to be enrolled in the session and gives facilitators time to prepare. Once a session is closed for self-enrollments in Skillsoft, you will be unable to withdraw yourself and we ask that you email HR.TrainingRegistration@ucdenver.edu instead.

Our Instructor Led Training Access Guide (see Resources) instructs on how to manage self-enrollments in Skillsoft, including withdrawing.

Cancellation Policy for Courses with a Cost

Learning and Development will confirm your attendance and speedtype 3 to 5 weeks prior to the session via email. If you do not confirm, you will be withdrawn from the session. If you confirm attendance, the speedtype provided will now be charged for the course and materials ordered. After the confirmation, there is no option for a refund.

If you need to cancel your registration after you’ve confirmed but prior to receiving the materials, we will issue a credit for that course. The credit may be applied towards a registration for a future session of that course, redeemable by you or someone else in your department using the same speedtype. This credit will remain active for a year.

If you need to cancel your registration after you’ve confirmed and have received the materials, we will issue a credit for only you. You must then register for a future session of that course within a year.

If you are a no show, neither you nor your department will be issued a credit. If the course has materials that are distributed during class, you will not be entitled to receive the materials. To avoid this, please notify us prior to the class start date that you are unable to attend.

Activating the Credit

In order to apply the credit, you or your colleague that has enrolled in the future session must immediately notify HR.TrainingRegistration@ucdenver.edu.

COURSE DESCRIPTION / CONTENT

Employees typically spend up to 40 percent of their time preparing for and participating in meetings. With poor planning and unclear agendas, meetings end up losing focus and devouring time, energy, resources, and money. This perpetuates an environment where people show up late for meetings or leave early, no one takes the lead, decisions are delayed, and worst of all, and people don’t take action after the meeting. Yet with the right training, skills, and processes, running effective meetings, proceeding productively, and ending with a clear course of action will become the standard.

This dynamic and engaging course teaches employees how to run effective meetings, focusing productively during the meeting, and following through successfully after the meeting.

Upon completion, the learner will be able to:

  • Initiate, plan, and define the meeting’s purpose

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Yes. Prior to enrolling in any instructor led training, you should discuss with your supervisor and gain approval. Many of our classes do not have a fee; however, some do and this must always be approved and a speedtype provided in order to confirm a seat in the class.

Yes! Skillsoft is run by the System Training team in Employee Services and they have published lots of guides and FAQs.

    Their website is HERE.

    Their Skillsoft FAQs are HERE.

    Or their email is system.training@cu.edu.

If you need an ADA Accommodation to participate in an instructor led training, please email HR.TrainingRegistration@ucdenver.edu.

Usually, Yes. We accept personal checks as payment for any classes that have fees. Payment is due at the time of the class. But due to being completely virtual, we unfortunately do not have a way to collect payments other than speedtypes.

Our In-Person training typically close for enrollment two weeks prior to the session date. Our virtual training close the day of the training. Check Skillsoft to see if you are able to update your own enrollment. If you don't have that option, please email our office.

This depends, is it before the session enrollment date has closed? If so, withdraw yourself from the course. Use our ILT access guide for help.

If it is after the session enrollment has closed, please email HR.TrainingRegistration@ucdenver.edu as soon as you know you won’t be able to attend.

Make sure you are familiar with our cancellation policy.

Please see our Instructor Led Training Access Guide under Resources on this webpage.

This means that the session is confirmed, it does not mean you are enrolled.
If you are enrolled in a session it will have the word “withdraw” (see below).

In the following screenshot, I am not enrolled in the course.

If there is no option available under the "Action" column, it meas the session enrollment date has past. Refer to the Instructor Led Training Access Guide.

Our office is manually checking this. You should be notified within a week if you have been approved or denied for a class. If you haven't heard after a week, please email HR.TrainingRegistration@ucdenver.edu.

We suggest that you go ahead and enroll in any class that you are interested in attending to hold your place. Some classes do have a waitlist so it’s best to reserve a spot when you have the opportunity. We ask that you update your enrollment as soon as you find out you can’t attend. Please read the cancellation policy for deadlines and penalties. The earlier you update your enrollment, the better chance that someone on the waitlist will be able to take your spot.

Our classes have a set number of enrollments allotted. This number is reflected on the capacity of the room. If you are on the waitlist you will not be able to enroll in another date for this session. As people unenroll from the course, persons on the waitlist will automatically get added to the session until the capacity is reached. After enrollment period closes, you will no longer be on the waitlist.

The system only allows you to register/waitlist for one session of the same course at a time. Thus, you would have to choose if you want to remain on the waitlist or if you want to unenroll from the waitlist and ensure a spot in a session at a later date.
