CU Denver created its dedicated Human Resources team after the university adopted its Strategic Plan in 2021. One of the university’s goals is to become a people-centered best place to work and that started with putting together a team that focuses exclusively on our employees. The first hire to lead the CU Denver Human Resources team was made in February 2022, and the most recent hire for the campus office was made in February 2023.
The goal of the team is to serve all of our employees by providing one place for all human resources-related needs. From assisting with recruiting for an open position in your department and training opportunities for career growth or questions about timecards and Family Leave, our team is here for you. The team also serves as a conduit to the CU System office, which is charged with Health Benefits administration. Training opportunities are offered by this team as well as the CU Anschutz Medical Campus, giving employees several choices.

Enroll in a Public Service Loan Forgiveness plan.As a CU employee, you may qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) — a program that incentivizes college graduates who work in the public sector. CU is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit qualifying employer. To enroll, you'll need to sign up for a qualifying repayment program.
Need to provide proof that you’re a University of Colorado employee, or are you requesting documentation of an employee’s status?CCC Verify for employment verification should be utilized as the primary employment verification system. HR can provide start date, end date, position held, and salary, if requested. We are unable to provide reference checks or comment on rehire status of former employees.

The University of Colorado Denver Human Resources will treat all information with appropriate discretion, given the nature of the information and the circumstances regarding its use. We care about our employees and their privacy and, whenever possible, will keep their information and inquiries confidential. State and federal law requires that certain information be kept confidential. In contrast, some information is considered an open record under the law and must be disclosed upon proper request. In cases where University policies or the law require disclosure, the safety of our faculty, staff, students or others is compromised, or there is a compelling business reason, Human Resources will also use appropriate discretion in disclosing employee information to those who have a legitimate need to know. Employees with additional questions about confidentiality are encouraged to ask us for clarification on a case-by-case basis and to use the confidential services of the campus Ombuds Office.
