The Inclusive Excellence Council (IEC) is comprised of Associate Deans and Unit Leaders from each of the colleges, schools and business units*. It is a standing council that was formed in Jan 22, 2022. Its charge stems from our
2030 Strategic Plan, to become the nation's first equity serving institution and to be known as a people-centered best place to work.
The work consists of:
- DEI asset mapping (what resources we already have in place in the DEI space and what gaps need to be prioritized for support/funding).
- Creating outcome based, data informed plans and recommendations to the deans and university leadership on how to take Goal 1 and 5 from paper to practice.
- Developing unit level plans that address Goal 1 and 5, as well as specifically speaking to the Climate and Workplace Survey results.
- Committing to professional development in DEI, which will be ongoing and evolving as the cultural competencies of the council increase.
*All business units will be published by end of Spring 2023.
