I joined the Board in 2018 and currently serving as the CU Denver Alumni Board President. Being involved as a student in organizations such as the Student Government Association, the Business Student Ambassador Committee, and as a math tutor at the Learning Resources Center instilled a love for serving the CU Denver community. I plan to continue my lifelong journey of serving the university as an alumnus, because it gave me so many opportunities as a student!

School of Education and Human Development | Counseling, Community Agency-Career Track
Project Manager Scrum Master, Charles Schwab

I joined the Board in 2020 and serve on the Philanthropy & Recognition Committee. I'm honored to represent and serve CU Denver as an Alumni Board Member collaborating to create, maintain, and support partnerships between the community, the institution, and its students. As an alumna and former employee (11.5 years), CU Denver has had a significant impact on my life. I served CU Denver for over a decade because of my belief in the organization’s mission and values and the populations it serves. I felt the institution gave me the opportunity to effect change and make lives better for those I worked with and for.

As a first generation college student, obtaining graduate level education was a huge accomplishment for me and my family. Beyond the personal growth and development my formal education has afforded me, it has also had far reaching socioeconomic implications for my life enabling me to access opportunities (e.g. career, financial stability) that I would not have otherwise. I am honored to continue to serve this great institution and look forward to continuing to serve.

I am a Denver native who loves the state of Colorado. I went to CU Denver and was a part of the University Honors and Leadership program where I graduated from the Business School in 2016. I started working for FirstBank after graduating, and am an Assistant Vice President. I was eager to join the CU Denver Alumni Board so that I could help give back and pay forward some of the amazing opportunities that CU Denver afforded me. College of Liberal Arts and Sciences | Communications
Operations and Events Senior Coordinator, University of Colorado Denver | Denver, CO

I joined the Alumni Board in 2014, and have grown exponentially (both personally and professionally) from my experiences at CU Denver. I originally was nominated by past Board member Shameka McBoat, who taught me the value of giving back with the three T’s (time, talent, treasure) to our alma mater. Since then, I have joined the campus as a staff member with LynxConnect, and continued my mission of giving back to this amazing university, we call home. I truly bleed black and gold, so in my free time you will find me at a Buffs game in Boulder with my family, or visiting local Wineries.

Faculty relationship manager at 2U Inc. | Denver, CO

Born and raised in Indiana, I earned both my bachelor's and master's degree from Indiana University and have worked in higher education for over 15 years at various institutions in Indiana, New Jersey, California, and Colorado. After having both worked and graduated from CU Denver, I was looking for opportunities to give back to the community that was a significant piece of my personal and professional development so I joined the board in 2020. My goal is to help enhance the experience for both current students and alumni by the various projects and programs I work with. I currently work full time for an educational technology company, 2U, and when I'm not working or volunteering with the board, I am most likely playing/chasing/wrestling/ my 5 and 10 year old boys.

College of Architecture and Planning | Urban and Regional Planning
Associate City Planner at the City and County of Denver | Denver, CO

I currently work as an urban planner with the City and County of Denver. Graduating with honors with a master's in urban and regional planning in the Fall of 2013. My focus was urban placemaking and transportation. I discovered planning through volunteer activities and found planning to be the perfect way to connect my interests in architecture, design, transit-oriented development, placemaking, and branding into a profession. I believe communities are empowered and benefit most when transportation, land use, and the responsible use of natural resources are holistically approached through comprehensive planning and intelligent design.

Business Intelligence Analyst, University of Colorado | Broomfield, CO

Before graduating from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in 2016, my participation in the University Honors and Leadership program provided not only outstanding academic opportunities, but scholarships, research funding, and a job offer that has set the course for my career. Serving on the CU Denver Alumni Board has been a fun, meaningful way to give back to the vibrant university community. On weekends, I love taking advantage of all Denver has to offer, especially when it comes to a good hike with friends or catching up with family at a local eatery.

Business School | Business and Information Systems
Business Intelligence Analyst, DaVita | Denver, CO

I graduated from CU Denver with my Bachelor’s in 2017 and my Master’s in 2018, both from the Business School. During my time at CU Denver, I was on student government for 3 of 4 years in Undergrad, including serving as the Vice President of the student body. This and the many other opportunities I took advantage of while at CU Denver have made me greatly appreciate the value of CU Denver as an institution and what it does to help students grow through college life and beyond. I am currently a member of the Career Committee on the board, and this has been a great opportunity for me to help strengthen our alumni relationships and school spirit, while giving back to a school which gave me so much.
