Advocacy

The CU Denver | Anschutz Staff Council is working hard to advocate for you!

We have heard, both informally and formally through surveys such as the University of Colorado Staff Council Work Climate Survey, that our constituents want more (and more easily accessible) Career Training & Professional Development opportunities and a Tuition Assistance Benefit that brings us in line with peer institutions and is easier for staff to use for their own education.

Through the Train & Retain Initiative and Staff Council subcommittees, we are working to answer these (and other) calls for action.  For example:
  • In April 2018, Staff Council and the Professional Development subcommittee piloted the 1st Annual Staff Council Professional Development Symposium.  Look for this well-attended, free event to expand in years to come.
  • In 2018, Staff Council created the Ad Hoc Employee Tuition Assistance Benefit Committee to make recommendations on improving employee-usage of the Tuition Assistance Benefit.

We will post updates on our advocacy as the initiative takes flight!
