The CU Denver Emergency Management Division works with the National Weather Service to provide weather support for campus related events. Weather support is designed for those events you feel are particularly vulnerable to weather due to location, size, or nature of the event. 

 Examples of Weather supported events include:

  • Fall Block Party
  • Spring Fling
  • Commencement Ceremony
  • Convocation
  • Institutional or campus-wide outdoor events 

 Weather support services for an event include:

  • The Emergency Management Division will contact the event point of contact as requested with a weather briefing
  • The Emergency Management Division will maintain a constant weather watch for the event
  • If hazardous weather is predicted to impact the event, the Emergency Management Division will contact the point of contact
  • The Emergency Management Division will provide on-site or remote support as requested
  • The Emergency Management Division will be available to the event point of contact to call at anytime during the event to receive updates, or additional weather information
