Preparing communities for climate change
As climate change intensifies, natural disasters like the 2013 Colorado floods will only become more common. But even the darkest storm cloud has a silver lining, and it’s this professor’s job to turn that outline into a plan to help healing communities move forward.
In the School of Public Affairs, Deserai Crow, PhD, researches natural disaster recovery—as well as risk mitigation—for local communities. By studying how cities can better respond to and prepare for destructive weather patterns, her work helps families and communities to be more resilient whenever the worst happens.
