Center for Faculty Development & Advancement

We support all faculty in their professional lives at the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus.

We strive to support faculty to create an interdisciplinary community of faculty focused on scholarship and professional growth. We enhance faculty success in earning promotion and tenure, progressing in rank, growth as leaders in their department, and faculty's experience on our campus. We offer resources, programs, and services to best support faculty in their career, and in work/life balance associated with life as a scholar.

Mindfulness Meditation Series

| 04:00 PM - 05:15 PM
The CFDA will be hosting the Mindfulness Meditation Series led by Jeff Franklin, Ph.D. Jeff is a Professor of English at CU Denver and has been certified by the Engaged Mindfulness Institute as a mindfulness instructor.

This workshop series will give you the opportunity to learn how to do several types of mindfulness practice so you can decide whether or not you want to develop a practice of your own. This is a practical, hands-on, how-to introductory workshop. That said, half of the time spent in this workshop will be sitting quietly together. Sitting mindfully—being gently and non-judgmentally present with ourselves—can be some of the hardest and most rewarding work we do in life, though that’s up to each of us as individuals. It also is a form of self-care, loving-kindness to ourselves. We will learn how to do that mostly by practicing together—that’s why it’s called “practice”—more than by talking about it
