Jeanette M. Cordova, B.S. Human Services, Minor Psychology, Minor Modern Language-Spanish, Metropolitan State University of Denver; LEND Parent and Diversity Fellow JFK Partners/UC Denver.
Ms. Cordova joined JFK Partners and the University of Colorado School of Medicine in October 2016 as the Professional Research Assistant on the SPARK for Autism research study. She is the proud mom of a teen son, Tait, who is chromosomally enhanced and is a character. Jeanette knows first-hand the challenges and wonderful journey being a parent of a child with different abilities. Jeanette is Puerto Rican American and has lived in Colorado for 25 years. Prior to that she was born in NYC and raised in Miami, Florida. Jeanette has developed and maintained relationships with Spanish-speaking community in disabilities. Jeanette started the first Spanish-speaking support group for parents of loved ones with Down syndrome which is still running today at RMDS. Jeanette graduated December of 2014 with her Bachelors in Science in Human Services with a Nonprofit concentration and minors in Psychology and Modern Language-Spanish. Jeanette is currently a LEND Fellow with JFK Partners for 2016-2017 and owner of Bright Futures LLC Colorado, private education counseling, advocacy and consulting agency. She will be working towards her Master in Counseling at University of Colorado Denver starting in the Fall 2017.
