The campus core curriculum is governed by an elected body of faculty from each of the undergraduate schools and colleges, chaired by Dr. Ann Martin. The Core Curriculum Oversight Committee (CCOC) is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and coordinating the UC Denver core curriculum. Furthermore, CCOC supervises conformity with the guidelines adopted for core courses; oversee content and instructional quality of the core courses, and implements general education assessment strategies adopted by the UCD downtown campus.
Schools and colleges wishing to submit courses to CCOC for core course approval need to submit the following forms/documentation to: ccoc@ucdenver.edu.
Core Course Approval Cover Sheet
- Course syllabus
- Specific Core Area Approval Form:
The Core Curriculum Oversight Committee (CCOC) will begin implementing their oversight role on all UC Denver core curriculum courses in the Spring 2008 semester. Working with the assistant and associate deans of the undergraduate schools and colleges, CCOC will request that syllabi from each section of approved core courses be submitted to ccoc@cudenver.edu by census date.
Once an undergraduate student has matriculated at UC Denver, the student is expected to complete the core curriculum with UC Denver courses approved by the Core Curriculum Oversight Committee (CCOC). Exceptions to this general policy must be approved by the CCOC. Students and programs who believe there are special circumstances that warrant a petition to the CCOC must complete the Petition Form.
