If you have applied for the College Opportunity Fund (COF) and are unable to authorize UCD to apply the stipend to your tuition bill, please verify the following:
You are an undergraduate student at the University of Colorado Denver.
You have been classified as a Resident student at the University of Colorado Denver. (Transfer students from other CU campuses cannot assume that the residency status automatically transferred to the Denver campus.) If you have already registered for classes and are being billed at the non-resident tuition rate, you must contact the Residency Coordinator, Jaime Alvarez (Jaime.Alvarez@ucdenver.edu), to request residency status at the University.
Newly admitted students (including transfer students) will not be able to authorize their COF stipend in the UCD Access portal until 3-5 business days after they register for classes.
Verify your COF student ID number with College Assist at 720-264-8550.
If your COF student ID number is your social security number, contact the Registrar’s office to make sure that we have your social security number on file. To add your social security number to your academic record, please update your information using this form and submit to email@example.com along with a copy of your signed social security card or a W-2 form.
If your COF student ID number is a generic number, please send an email with the subject line: COF ID Number to firstname.lastname@example.org. Be sure to reference your UCD student ID number in your email.
Wait 3-5 business days after submitting your COF ID number before attempting to authorize your stipend in the UCD Access portal. Instructions on authorizing your COF stipend can be found in the “How-To Guides” on the Student tab in your UCD Access portal. Your stipend should appear on your tuition bill within 24 hours after authorization.
If you were eligible to receive the stipend at UCD in prior semesters, but are no longer able to do so, check your available COF hours on the COF Authorization tab in the UCD Access portal to make sure that you have not exceed the 145 Maximum Lifetime Credit Hour Limit.
If you are still unable to authorize your stipend 3-5 business days after confirming your COF student ID number, contact our office at email@example.com for further assistance.
Important Note: The COF Authorization option should be available in the UCD Access portal until the last day of each semester. Requests for stipends after the end of a semester must be submitted to the Colorado Department of Higher Education directly via the appeal process.
