• Required Trainings
• The FERPA training will enhance your understanding of the confidentiality protections that federal law affords the records and information that the university maintains about our students.
• The Introduction to ISIS course serves as an introduction to the basic functionality and concepts, such as login, navigation, menu items and shortcuts, shared by all ISIS Campus Solutions modules.
• Faculty who need access to standard faculty access to class and grading rosters through the portal are requested to complete the FERPA training.
• Faculty who need direct access to ISIS along with access to class and grading rosters though the portal are required to complete both the FERPA and Intro to ISIS trainings.
• Staff and Student workers who need access to ISIS are required to complete both the FERPA and Intro to ISIS trainings.
• For information on how to access the required trainings, please review this PDF instructional document.
• If a user who has requested access has not completed one or both of the required trainings, the user and their supervisor will be contacted by the Security Coordinator with instructions on how to complete the required courses.
• ISIS Security Turnaround Time
• Requests submitted directly to the Security Coordinator are approved and configured by the ISIS Security Administrator within 5 business days in most cases.
• All requests must be submitted electronically via authenticated University email attaching the MS Word version of the completed ISIS Access Request. Requests not submitted in this manner will be rejected.
• Requests may be delayed for multiple reasons including but not limited to the following;
• Requests submitted to recipients other than the Security Coordinator
• Requests submitted with incomplete access request forms
• Requests submitted that are unclear in required access
• Requests submitted before completing the required trainings
• Requests requiring access to multiple modules (Financial Aid, Admissions, etc)
• Role of the Security Coordinator
• The Security Coordinator will ensure the approved ISIS security process is followed, all required trainings are completed and that the request is appropriate for the user requesting access.
• The Security Coordinator will approve access that falls within the user’s job function under the guidance of the FERPA policy.
• In situations where clarification of an access request is needed, the Security Coordinator may contact the user requesting access or their supervisor via email or phone to clarify the request.

• Initial Requests for Access to ISIS
• Users who require access to ISIS must complete the ISIS Access Request form.
• Sections 1-3 of the form must be completed.
• The Job Duties section should be completed with information pertaining to which pages are needed for expanded access in ISIS.
• If faculty only need access to class rosters and grading, please only request “Faculty Standard Access” in the duties area in the bottom of Section 1
• Once completed, the user must submit their form to their direct supervisor for review and approval.
• Upon reviewing the access request the supervisor must submit the form via email, stating their approval in the body of the email, to the Security Coordinator at ucdsecurityaccess@ucdenver.edu for configuration.
• Any access requests sent to a recipient other than ucdsecurityaccess@ucdenver.edu may result in delayed processing time.
• Once completed, the user will be informed of their completed request via email from the UIS Security Administrator.
• Access Change Requests
• Access change requests refer to requests to modify access that has already been completed following the submission of the ISIS Access Request Form.
• If an ISIS Access Request Form has already been submitted access, users must submit and email for review and approval to their direct supervisor stating the request for additional access they require.
• Upon reviewing the request, the supervisor must forward the request via email, stating their approval in the body of the email, to the Security Coordinator at ucdsecurityaccess@ucdenver.edu.
• Any access change requests sent to a recipient other than the ucdsecurityaccess@ucdenver.edu may result in delayed processing time.
• Once completed, the user will be informed of their completed change request via email from the Security Coordinator.

• Access to base level student records reporting
• Users who need base level access to student records reporting should specify their need within their completed access request form.
• Checking the “Cognos” box on the ISIS access request form will indicate to the Security Coordinator that base level student records reporting access is required.
• Student’s date of birth, social security number and residency status are NOT included with base level reporting access.
• Additional access to Cognos reporting
• Requests for additional access to Cognos reporting outside that which is mentioned above cannot be approved by the Security Coordinator without additional approval from the Office of the Registrar’s Reporting Team.
• Requests for any reporting access outside of that which is mentioned above should contact the Office of the Registrar’s Reporting Team via email describing their needs
• The Office of the Registrar’s Reporting Team will then forward the approved request on to the Security Coordinator for configuration.
• The Office of the Registrar’s Reporting Team will then inform the user of the completed request via email.
