Marshall Scholarship
Marshall Scholars strengthen the relationship between the British and American peoples, their governments, and their institutions. Marshall Scholars are talented, independent and wide-ranging, and their time as Scholars enhances their intellectual and personal growth. Their direct engagement with Britain through its best academic programs contributes to their ultimate personal success.
Marshall Scholarships finance young Americans of high ability to study for a degree in the United Kingdom. Up to forty Scholars are selected each year to study at the graduate level at a UK institution in any field of study.
Focus- Graduate students with an interest in studying at a United Kingdom Institution; students may choose any field of study; this scholarship is funded by the British Government, students with an interest in developing and strengthening American and British relationship are actively sought
Eligibility- U.S. Citizens who have their undergraduate degree before taking up potential scholarship, possess a minimum GPA of 3.7, not have studied for, or hold a degree from a British University, have graduated from their first undergraduate college
Submission- Four Letters of Recommendation, mailed transcripts, online application
Criteria- Selection based on a range of factors including candidate’s choice of course, choice of university, academic, and personal aptitude; candidates will indicate two preferred universities of study preference; preference is given to Oxford, Cambridge and London School of Economics as school choices
Benefits- University fees, cost of living, annual book grant, thesis grant, research and daily travel grants, fares to and from the US and where applicable, a contribution towards the support of a dependent spouse; scholarship is tenable for two academic years, based on institution choice and area of study, scholarship may be extended to accommodate.
