Marshall Scholarships finance young Americans of high ability to study for a degree in the United Kingdom. Up to forty Scholars are selected each year to study at the graduate level at a UK institution in any field of study.
Focus- Graduate students with an interest in studying at a United Kingdom Institution; students may choose any field of study; this scholarship is funded by the British Government, students with an interest in developing and strengthening American and British relationship are actively sought
Eligibility- U.S. Citizens who have their undergraduate degree before taking up potential scholarship, possess a minimum GPA of 3.7, not have studied for, or hold a degree from a British University, have graduated from their first undergraduate college
Submission- Four Letters of Recommendation, mailed transcripts, online application
Criteria- Selection based on a range of factors including candidate’s choice of course, choice of university, academic, and personal aptitude; candidates will indicate two preferred universities of study preference; preference is given to Oxford, Cambridge and London School of Economics as school choices
Benefits- University fees, cost of living, annual book grant, thesis grant, research and daily travel grants, fares to and from the US and where applicable, a contribution towards the support of a dependent spouse; scholarship is tenable for two academic years, based on institution choice and area of study, scholarship may be extended to accommodate.
