Work-Study is awarded by the Financial Aid Office, making it easier for students with financial need to find a part-time job and earn money to help pay for educational expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to the recipient's course of study. Eligible students are awarded on a first come, first served basis.
Work-Study employment is essentially the same as having any job – you find a position, you determine how many hours per week you will be able to work, and you are paid an hourly rate. All earnings are paid bi-weekly through automatic deposit to your bank account.
The University of Colorado Denver|Anschutz Medical Campus Work-Study program is funded by the Federal and State governments. Each year the number of recipients of Work-Study awards will vary depending on fund availability. Sometimes students who would like Work-Study do not initially receive the award and other times students receive the award, but elect not to utilize it. If you did not receive Work-Study funding but would like to be considered, submit the Work-Study Request Form to be placed on a waiting list for funds.
NOTE: If you were initially awarded Work-Study and have no earnings through this program by October 1st, your award will be cancelled, unless before this date you notify your Financial Aid Office of extenuating circumstances that prevented you from finding employment.
