The mission of the Student Employment Office at the University of Colorado Denver|Anschutz Medical Campus (University) is to assist students in finding meaningful work experiences while complementing their collegiate and career goals. In addition, the Student Employment Office is here to assist University employers and surrounding community businesses by developing partnerships that will allow students to earn money, expand their academic preparation, and explore career objectives through a quality college work experience. For these reasons, it is always the recommendation of the Student Employment Office that students find work-study and student hourly positions within departments or areas of a student’s major field of study and/or future career interest.
All students may find open work-study and student hourly positions with both on and off campus departments, along with part-time hourly position offered by businesses in the surrounding communities on the University’s Student Employment Job Board. Please Note: students must have a work-study award as part of their financial aid package to apply for work-study only positions found on the Student Employment Job Board.
Work-Study is a need-based award offered by the Financial Aid Office and is based upon the information reported on the FAFSA. Work-Study positions are fund solely by the work-study award through a student’s financial aid package. Undergraduate work-study students must maintain at least 6 credit hours, and Graduate work-study students must maintain at least 3 credit hours throughout each semester to retain and earn a work-study award.
Student hourly positions are funded by a specific department’s budget. Work-study and/or financial aid is not required for this type of employment. All hourly students must be enrolled in some credit-earning capacity during the semester in which they are employed. Students not enrolled at least half-time as a student hourly employee, will be subject to the University’s Student Retirement.
Part-Time hourly positions are offered by businesses in the surrounding Denver community, and are not affiliated with the University. All students, regardless of enrollment or financial need, may apply for these positions through the Student Employment Job Board.
