Your loan information will be submitted to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS), and will be accessible by guaranty agencies, lenders, and institutions determined to be authorized users of the data system. You can access your loan record by clicking Financial Aid Review and following the instructions. You will need your social security number and FAFSA PIN to log in.

Repayment

  • Generally, repayment begins shortly after the loan is fully disbursed. This means that you will probably have to start repayment while your student is still in school.
  • Parent borrowers can "opt" to defer repayment. Interest will continue to accrue even if you were granted a deferment on the loan. Specifically, Parent Direct PLUS Loan borrowers may defer repayment:
    • While the dependent student on whose behalf the loan was obtained is enrolled on at least a half-time basis, and
    • During the 6-month period after the dependent student on whose behalf the loan was obtained ceases to be enrolled on at least a half-time basis.
    • To request a deferment, contact the Direct Loan Servicing Center (DLSC) at 800-848-0979 or Applicant Services at 800-557-7394.
