Information For Parents

Information for Parents

Welcome to the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus! At the University, a majority of the financial aid information is communicated directly with our students. However, we know that parents are very involved in their students’ education so this section is to help keep parents informed of the financial aid process and requirements.

Privacy Notice for Parents (FERPA):

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) sets limits on the disclosure of personally identifiable information from school records, and defines the rights of the student to review the records, request a change to the records and consent to disclosure of the records. The Notification of Rights Under the FERPA at CU Denver is located on the Office of the Registrar's web site under Student Privacy.

Students who would like to give consent to disclose their financial aid record to their parents are asked to complete the Authorization for Release of Information (FERPA) and return the completed form to the Financial Aid Office.

Apply for Financial Aid:

Visit our Apply for Financial Aid page for instructions.

Expected Family Contribution (EFC):

The Expected Family Contribution (EFC) is calculated from the information reported on the FAFSA. The FAFSA processor uses an EFC formula that includes income, assets, the number of persons in the household, and the number attending college for the award year in its calculation. The EFC is listed on the Student Aid Report (SAR) which can be viewed and printed from www.fafsa.gov.

The CU Denver tuition and fees information can be found on the Bursar's Office How Much Does It Cost? page
