 RSVP & Regalia Request Form

New Student Convocation

Friday, August 14, 2015

School/College Receptions
3:30 - 4:45 p.m.

All faculty and staff are invited to meet incoming freshmen and transfer students at receptions hosted by the schools and colleges. This is an opportunity to form connections with the incoming class and inform students about classes and programs.

5 - 6 p.m.

The convocation ceremony is the official welcome to our university for our new students. Here they hear from administration, fellow students and a motivational speaker about what it takes to succeed in their college career. It's designed to start our students on the path to graduation and faculty participation is so important. We hope that you will attend.

6 - 8 p.m.

Following the ceremony, everyone is invited to enjoy a BBQ on Auraria Field. We encourage all faculty to attend with their families and experience a fun summer evening before classes begin on Monday. We'll have food, music, games and more!

Please complete the form to RSVP for the day's events and to request regalia if needed.

Regalia will be available for pick-up in the PE/Event Center, Room 111G between 3 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. on Friday, August 14th. If attending a school/college reception, please come to 111G at 4:30 p.m. when the students are preparing for the processional to claim your regalia.

Just prior to the ceremony, parents, guests and university staff will be directed into the gym to take their seats. Faculty and administation will gather in PE 111G to line up for the processional. Once the new students have completed their march from the various reception locations and have entered the gym, the faculty procession - led by Marshal Ferguson - will begin.

The New Student BBQ immediately follows on the CU Denver Athletic Field and is open to all.

Rented regalia will be returned to PE 111G at the conclusion of the New Student Convocation.
