Graduation Ceremonies

Commencement: An ending celebrating a new beginning

Weather Update: ​​The National Weather Service is currently forecasting a high of 67 and a 30% chance of showers after 1pm.  At this time, the ceremony will proceed outdoors at 9am.​

Commencement honors the achievement of one's academic goals and the beginning of the next vocational commitment. CU Denver ceremonies occur twice a year in December and May. Summer graduates are invited to participate in the fall ceremony. Tickets are not required for either commencement ceremony.

Pre-registration for the Spring Commencement Ceremony is now closed.  

On-site registration and regalia rental is available on Friday, May 11th from 12-7pm at cap and gown pick-up in the Tivoli Turnhalle.  Cash payment is required for all on-site registrations.​ 

Please Note: Applying to graduate is a separate process from registering for the ceremony*.  Registration is required for participation in the commencement ceremony.

Commencement Fees:

Early Bird Registration Fees (March 1 - April 13):
Bachelor's Degree - $45
Master's/Ed Specialist Degree - $55
Doctoral Degree - $65

Standard Registration Fees (April 14 - April 27; Registration closes on April 27 at 11:59pm MDT):

Bachelor's Degree - $70
Master's/Ed Specialist Degree - $80
Doctoral Degree - $90

On-Site Registration Fees (May 11)- Cash Payment Required
Bachelor's Degree - $95
Master's/Ed Specialist Degree - $105
Doctoral Degree - $115

Commencement fees include cap and gown rental, a participation fee and all taxes and fees. Gowns and hoods (if applicable) must be returned after the ceremony. Graduates may keep caps and tassels. Please click here for information about academic regalia.
