Graduates will be asked during the registration process to identify any special accommodations that may be needed to participate fully in the commencement ceremony. Ramps can be added to stages to accommodate wheelchairs and anyone who is unable to negotiate stairs. Sign language interpreters can be arranged as needed. Handicapped parking spaces are available in all designated visitor lots on Thursday and Friday with a valid
state-issued handicapped placard or license plate. On Friday, additional ADA parking is provided in the Kiowa, Ignacio and Georgetown lots.
Golf cart shuttles are available to transport guests with mobility issues from the parking lots to ceremony locations. Information tents are present in multiple locations near the parking lots to facilitate requests for transportation. In addition, a shuttle bus with wheelchair lift continuously circles the perimeter of the campus to transport anyone needing assistance.

At each of the ceremonies, a certain amount of seating is set aside for guests with special needs. Graduates are asked during the registration process for information about guests needing special accommodation, such as sign language interpretation or wheelchair accommodation. A sign language interpreter is always present during the main ceremony and will be present at the convocations as needed.
Please note that most ceremonies are outdoors and shade is limited. In most cases, there are tents available to provide some shade.
Outdoor ceremonies are held in grassy areas that are accessible by wheelchair. Ramps are installed over curbs to provide access where needed.
