College of Engineering and Applied Science

WE BUILD AWARD-WINNING CONCEPTS

A well-rounded engineer is structurally sound

When you dream of your future, do you see yourself building a car that gets more than 1,000 miles per gallon? Or do you imagine creating a medical device that will help an amputee compete in extreme sports? Perhaps you want to manage construction projects around the world or pursue a career in computer science?

You will find opportunities to do all that and more at the College of Engineering and Applied Science where fellow students and faculty identify real-world problems and seek creative solutions.

At the home of the only comprehensive bachelor’s-to-PhD bioengineering program in the state, we generate innovative solutions to societal challenges and prepare the engaged citizens of tomorrow.

Engineers have to be technically competent, but they also have to do political advocacy. It’s one thing to come up with a technical solution, but if you can’t get the right people to listen, you haven’t achieved anything.”
- Bill McIntyre, first PhD in new College of Engineering and Applied Science and School of Public Affairs program
Engineering is a rewarding profession, and I encourage women to wholeheartedly pursue their dreams!”
- Karen Maestas, MS civil engineering, 2014 Outstanding Woman in Engineering, American Council of Engineering Companies of Colorado
