If you are part of a team that does clinical research at UCHealth and/or CU Anschutz, chances are you know about the clinical trials management system called OnCore. It streamlines clinical research management and provides a centralized way for all members of a research team to get a quick and accurate snapshot of what is happening in a study at any time.
What you may not know, however, is all new studies with billable procedures at UCHealth must have calendar and financials built in OnCore. Unless your new study is built in OnCore, it will not integrate with EPIC. In addition, all studies—old and new—must be in OnCore by the end of 2018.
“Training is going very well,” says Dr. Alison Lakin, associate vice chancellor of Regulatory Compliance. “We have trained nearly 1,150 staff and PIs, and we have 3,042 protocols in the system.”
Dr. Lakin says her OnCore team has seen lots of success in terms of sticking to their timeline and rollout and getting people trained and into the system. The preapproval and integrated calendar build that was launched this spring went off without a hitch. She knows, however, that some people still have questions.
- Call the Help Desk at 303-724-1111 if you have questions about how to move all existing studies into OnCore.
And in order to incentivize teams to get old studies into OnCore, and also to get all studies into OnCore, the OnCore team will:
- Give OnCore Rocks water bottles to the first 20 groups to fill out form above.
- Give OnCore Rocks T-shirts for every team that gets ALL protocols in the system.
OnCore is made available at no cost to CU researchers thanks to the generosity of UCHealth and the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. OnCore is a collaboration between UCHealth, the CCTSI, the Cancer Center, the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.
