CU Denver - Learn with Purpose

Safety

A safe place to live and learn

CU Denver is committed to your safety and security. The Auraria Campus has a dedicated, full-service police department operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. The university provides emergency-related information, as appropriate, via:

Title IX

CU Denver is committed to maintaining a positive learning, working and living environment. The university employs trained staff members who have responsibility for Title IX compliance. The Title IX Coordinator oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of Title IX policies, procedures, and training efforts.

Campus Assessment, Response & Evaluation (CARE)

The CARE team was created by the university to address the health and safety needs of students as well as the campus community. The purpose of the team is to assess whether individuals pose a risk to themselves or others and to intervene when necessary, and more generally, to identify and provide assistance to those in need. The team takes a preventative approach to risk assessment by offering resources, referrals and support to both the concerning individual and those impacted by their behavior.

Student Conduct and Community Standards

The Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards serves as a resource to the CU Denver community through its efforts to meet the developmental and educational needs of students related to community expectations, civility and respect for self and others.

The office functions to support community members with conflict management and resolution, and responding to inappropriate and threatening behaviors. It provides student-centered educational services, which promote personal development and individual responsibility. The office also strives to create a dynamic, open and just environment where civility, cultural competence, and learning are expected and celebrated. You may view the Student Conduct Code online.

Extreme Weather

When extreme winter weather conditions develop, the university's normal business operations can be affected. Students, faculty and staff can check local broadcast news media (TV and radio) for announcements about closures or schedule adjustments. Information also will be available on the Auraria phoneline, 303-556-2401, and online at www.ucdenver.edu/alert

Health Science Students

At CU Denver, students aspiring to careers in the fast-growing field of health care find a campus teeming with opportunity, academic rigor and support.

When not in class, they enjoy immersive clinical care and research experiences at top-notch health care centers across metro Denver and at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora. Entering the sprawling health care field – which spans everything from medicine and nursing to pharmacy and physical therapy to dentistry and optometry – is easily one of the most popular pursuits of undergraduates at CU Denver.
