Domestic Students

Health Insurance at CU Denver

The University of Colorado Denver will no longer offer student health insurance for domestic students starting Fall 2016.

Please keep in mind that under the Affordable Care Act, the federal government requires that U.S. citizens have health insurance coverage or pay a fee on their next federal tax return. Students should visit, the official State Health Insurance Exchange for Colorado, to explore their health insurance options.

We recommend students to start the application process as soon as possible and look into alternatives.

Please contact the student health insurance office with any questions you may have. We are also able to connect your directly with someone at the Colorado Health Exchange.

Students who are currently enrolled on the CU Denver Student Insurance plan will have coverage until August 16th.

The Health Center at Auraria

The Health Center at Auraria provides health services for ALL UC Denver students regardless of insurance status. Students who do not have the CU Denver insurance plan will be asked for payment at the time of service. The Health Center is located in the Plaza Building Suite 150 or you can reach them at 303-556-2525. To learn more please visit the Health Center at Auraria web site.
