"Deciding to transfer to the University of Colorado Denver from Metro State is one of the most fruitful decisions I have ever made. There is significant difference between the student life and the quality of education between the two universities. Before making the decision to run for Student Government, I thought about ways in which I could become actively involved in the community. After receiving a nomination for the vice presidency at the Society for Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), I realized that I was destined for leadership. And thus I chose to represent a wider range of people. As Senator, I intend to further increase student involvement at the CU Denver’s campus. I believe an active student body contributes to a healthy and friendly campus environment. We have a very able bodied group representing the CU Denver student community this year and we, the students, will see significant changes in the quality of student life."
